Sometimes we can harvest raw, lightly filtered honey from our local hives (Southern Lake County/Northern Cook County).
Thoughtful harvesting means quantities are unpredictable.

Discovering more about the honey bee helps to illuminate the magic in the world around us and perhaps inspires us to preserve and protect it.
I started keeping honey bees almost 15 years ago and learned that the honey bee is a tiny but strategic player in our world.There are countless influences that impact their world, from pesticides to habitat reduction to new diseases from far corners of the world. The more I learn, the more I realize that it is we, average citizens, who will author and support the changes needed to preserve the honey bee and the other pollinators for whom honey bees have become an ambassador.
